We are seeking a dynamic professional who possesses an analytical mind, organization, attention to detail and strong leadership, to join our team as the Purchasing Agent/Buyer.
The Purchasing Agent/Buyer will consider price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support when choosing suppliers and merchandise.
Buyers and purchasing agents buy products and services for the company and our projects.
The Purchasing Agent/Buyer will evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and review the quality of products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee.
Collaborating with various internal departments to ensure that they fulfill all customer requests Establishes purchasing policies and ensures compliance.
Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
Participates and manages small groups for physical inventory.
Utilizes the company ERP system and works in conjunction with the Staging Coordinator and the Inventory Control Manager Resolve vendor grievances and claims against suppliers.
Works closely with the receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrive.
Traces delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.
Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with U.
S.
laws.
Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
Authorizing payments and managing purchasing expenses with meticulous record-keeping.
Control purchasing budget
Qualifications:
Should have a minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience.
Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
Good leadership skills with ability to delegate and supervise work.
The understanding and aptitude to work with computer inventory programs and software.
Good interpersonal and communications skills for interacting and coordinating work within the departments of the organization and outside vendors.
Excellent understanding of inventory control procedures.
Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
